Where are we now?
Some of you may actually care about where we are right now, so here goes.
We had asked Kurt where he wanted to after he graduated. Anywhere in the US we said. So he chose something familiar, but exotic at the same time. Port Aransas (TX) where we had spent the summer in 2011. Most normal RV’ers come here in the winter, but we find the warm days and warm ocean temps absolutely fabulous.
We couldn’t get a monthly reservation at our favorite RV park in Port Aransas (Marina Beach), so we settled for second best, which is Ransom Road RV Park in Aransas Pass. We highly recommend this park. We are in a ‘canal’ site, which means the end of our RV backs up to the canal. There are even fish to be caught. And it’s a short walk to Mickey’s Bar & Grill on the harbor where our favorite food is their awesome half-pound hamburgers, accompanied by ‘dressed’ Coronas. I wasn’t sure what ‘dressed’ meant since I had never considered beer bottles to look naked, but it turns out that they coat the neck of the bottle with salt and top it off (of course) with a lime. Fantastic.
Our days are occupied with fishing in the canal, in the surf and off the bulkhead in Port Aransas, me working on websites, Terry riding his bike for hours on end, working out at the gym, me trying to jog in the ‘feels like 95’ degree weather (even at 9 in the morning), going to Dairy Queen for Blizzards, and paddling the kayaks in the waters around here. It’s hard, but someone has to do it.
